THE EXTENDED STAY

Program Description: 
"The Extended Stay" is for those who plan to stay for a while.  Volunteers are placed in projects with our partner, the Panamanian Red Cross.  Placements are from 4-12 weeks.  For stays over 12 weeks, GHA will assist volunteers with visa regulations. This unique partnership involves countless volunteer opportunities throughout Panama.

Participants must be self-motivated, independent & flexible. As needs are continuously changing, our volunteers must be able to handle such situations. Once a volunteer is placed in a particular project, it becomes their responsibility. (changing programs after being placed takes additional time & resources.)

Orientation takes place on the 1st Monday of each month at the Red Cross' Headquarters in Panama City. Programs start immediately following orientation. An additional limited number of registrants will be accepted on the 3rd Monday of each month for programs in Boquete, Panama

GHA provides monthly island retreats for volunteers on the 4th Friday of each month. The purpose of these retreats is to refresh & energize volunteers, as well as to provide time to share experiences, ideas & goals with other team members. Various events & cultural activities are included to highlight the natural wonders that make up Panama's rich diversity.

Fees:
$598 - 4 weeks ($75 each additional week.)
